Stand Tall, Captain!

Another simple quest to talk to an NPC.

The Soul Cannon of Reth’hedron

Gather 2 Felsteel Bars, 1 Adamantite Frame, 1 Khorium Power Core and 1 Flawless Arcane Essence to make your Soul Cannon and gain 500 reputation.

Felsteel is smelted by miners, Adamantite Frames and Khorium Power cores are sold by an NPC called Qiff in Area 52. Qiff is the type of vendor that sells different daily items and these two may not be readily available for purchase. The Auction House can be your friend in this manner.
The Flawless Arcane Essence can be obtained from completing the quest line for Sar’this in Terokkar where you’ll end up fighting elementals. The final elemental you take down will have the Arcane Essence needed for the Soul Cannon of Reth’hedron.

Subdue the Subduer

Take the Soul Cannon to Twilight Ridge in Nagrand and take on Reth’redon. Completing this quest awards 500 reputation.

In order to complete this quest, you need a flying mount to use the Soul Cannon quest item. As a level 100, you can’t “cheat” this by just killing him outright because he just cannot be subdued by any normal means other than using the Soul Cannon.

It only looks difficult at the beginning, but this is seriously easy. Take note that you do not have to be actually flying to use the soul cannon; so long as you are mounted on a flying mount, that’s fine.

The Dragonmaw Races

Now, these Dragonmaw Races are a personal favorite of mine. These used to be obscenely difficult due to the speeds of the very few available flying mounts back in the heyday of the Burning Crusade, but at max level with the max flight training, this is a cinch to beat.

The whole quest line also awards a total of over 3000 reputation for the Netherwing, so it’s definitely, hands down, something you should finish to alleviate the rep grind. Completing these races will also award you with the Skyshattered achievement.

Each of the races works the same way. You speak to the indicated racer, and have to follow him on a track around the Ledge, while dodging meteor-like rocks thrown back at you. It’s a 3-D race with some tight turns, and one wrong move can easily cause you to fail it out. Few people ever succeed the races on their first try.

Several places have posted race maps showing you the path you will be flying – use that info! Fly the path once in advance so you are familiar with the terrain – then expect the possibility that you may have to fail the race once or twice to figure out exactly where this or that turn is, etc. The racing quests are:

Earning Your Wings…
Dragonmaw Race: The Ballad of Oldie McOld
Dragonmaw Race: Trope the Filth-Belcher
Dragonmaw Race: Corlok the Vet
Dragonmaw Race: Wing Commander Ichman
Dragonmaw Race: Wing Commander Mulverick
Dragonmaw Race: Captain Skyshatter

Daily Quests

This is the only new daily at this reputation tier and completing it awards 500 reputation. Doing all available dailies rewards 2550 reputation, including those in the previous tiers.

Disrupting the Twilight Portal

Travel to the Twilight Ridge on the eastern edge of Nagrand and kill 20 Deathshadow agents.
Can you taste those awesome Netherwing WoW mounts yet? You are getting so close to the finish line.

Continued in the next part.
