Upgrading Your WoW Account: Firelands PART 2
WoW Account: Taking Down Alysrazor
Alysrazor is relatively simple enough if you have the DPS to burst her down quickly, netting an easy achievement for your WoW account. If not, it might be better to take her on with a friend that doesn’t want the flametalon or learn her mechanics. The first thing you have to watch out for in Alysrazor’s encounter is that she drops fiery plumes on the ground that give you a few minutes of levitation. With that levitation buff, you can then follow Alysrazor in the sky and proceed to damage her. It is best to use classes with little to no casting time because she’s always on the move and will often out-range you if you do decide to just cast in place.
From time to time, she swoops down, attacking your would-be raid and then going back up. You can ignore everything else but when she goes down for the first time, she’ll be attempting to heal herself and will be untargetable. Quickly take down the adds that spawn before she finishes her cast or else she will gain about a quarter of her maximum health, extending your fight unnecessarily.
If it so happens that you still do not have the DPS to take her down quickly, she will enter a phase where she will spin very fast in the entire arena, creating a fiery tornado. You will have to travel in the direction of the tornado to avoid incoming damage but you must also avoid the smaller fire tornadoes within the larger one. Hanging out in one of these smaller tornadoes for too long can definitely kill any level 100 player.
WoW Account: Meta Achievement Mount Requirement
Keep in mind that there is an achievement related to the required meta-achievement of the Firelands to obtain the Corrupted Egg of Millagazor mount and a good way to improve your WoW account value. You must NOT be hit by any of Alysrazor’s AoE attacks during the fight. The skills you have to avoid are detailed in your achievement log and the objectives may be cleared in more than several encounters with here, so you don’t have to earn all the evasion objectives all in one fight. This can, however, prove a bit difficult for the uninitiated or the poorly geared. Don’t worry though; this is one of the easier achievement for the purple phoenix mount.
Most likely, it will only take one whole phase of this before she goes down. If she doesn’t, you lack either gear or knowledge of your class to be able to dps properly. Alysrazor can be quite a tedious fight, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll find that you’ll be taking her down faster with every character and week that passes. She has a lot of drops that yield a lot of WoW gold when sold to a vendor, but you might also like some of them for some interesting and unique transmog. Hopefully, you’ll get the Flametalon of Alysrazor in but a few runs and you can be done worrying about her. When you do get the mount, without a doubt, the market value of your WoW account will soar just as high as Alysrazor.
There is a lot more to do in the Firelands so stay tuned for next time when I detail how to take down the other bosses in order to unlock Ragnaros, the final boss of the Firelands.
